Francoise MOUDOUTHE
The underrated power of connection in forming strong social movements. A pan-African feminist with roots in Cameroon, Françoise Moudouthe is passionate about supporting African feminist movements to thrive. That commitment has guided her career choices for over a decade. Early in her career, Françoise supported The Elders in setting up Girls Not Brides, the global civil society partnership to end child marriage, and spearheaded its growth in Africa, both on the coalition-building and the regional advocacy fronts. She later founded Eyala, a bilingual platform that amplifies the voices and lived experiences of African feminists and provides them with learning and solidarity spaces. January 2021, Françoise became the CEO of the African Women’s Development Fund, a feminist fund that resources, strengthens and upholds women’s rights and feminist organisations and movements across Africa. Françoise is a former Board member of the Malala Fund, Womankind Worldwide and WATHI Think Tank, and a current Board member of the Equality Fund and co-chairs the Board of Prospera, the International Network of Women’s and Feminist Funds. In 2021, Françoise was nominated by Apolitical as one of the world’s 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy. She is part of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders (class of 2022) and a Skoll Fellow. |

Just as Nathi (gooseberry), an indigenous fruit, resurfaces in modern supermarkets, Nimo seeks to reclaim forgotten wisdom and integrate it into our evolving food systems. Nivi’s entire career has been dedicated to making and scaling meaningful connections. She is now the CEO of Bridges to Prosperity, a global leader in rural infrastructure, on a mission to end poverty caused by isolation in our lifetimes. |
Naitiemu NYANJOM
My talk will focus on using reimagination as a mechanism for cultural preservation Naitiemu is a Kenyan material, production and performance artist. Her practice focuses on finding her identity as an individual connected with community and nature; guided by the African Philosophy of Ubuntu. She explores diverse materials and processes, telling emotional stories on female energy, culture and mental health awareness. She has been privileged to document stories from the indigenous Maasai community of Twala Tenebo Women village exploring their history and culture through photography and video interviews, 3d scans & VR, and a reimagined future through performance art, with a team of 13 other female creatives, where Naitiemu was the lead artist. This project aims to create a lens connecting our past, present and future. |
